How to be a good guest

Our community is composed of people from several different countries and cultures, and it is based on trust and mutual respect. Treat your host’s house as if it was your own.

- Feel at home and relax, but take good care of your host´s property.

- Read all the host´s recommendations about their home and follow them closely. For example, if they have requested that you close all the windows before leaving, please do so.

- Replace food and supplies, such as salt, pepper, coffee and cleaning products, used during your stay.

- Respect the building or neighborhood rules and be considerate and respectful of community norms.

- Leave the home in the same condition in which you found it. Many people prefer to hire a cleaning service recommended by the host. Other times, members will agree that each member will clean their own home when they return. Whatever your agreement with your exchange partner, always take kitchen and bathroom garbage out, clean the dishes, and remove all leftovers from the refrigerator.

– Ask your hosts where they would like you to leave used bedding and towels. Fold them and leave them the laundry basket if you don’t have time to wash them.

- If you have any questions during your stay, contact your hosts. They will be happy to assist you.

- If you break anything by accident, replace the item or ask how you can replace, fix, or pay for it.

- Before you leave the house, make sure all equipment and lights are turned off.

- Leave a Thank You note; it could be a card, chocolate, a drawing made by your kids, or just a quick note on the refrigerator door...

- Write a fair review about your hosts. This will help build trust within our community.
